Everett “Bo” Thomas
Thomas joined the City of Bellmead as city manager on July 9, 2012. His degree in business administration was earned at New Mexico State University. Thomas recognizes that the community is in a position to gain from some developing projects nearby and wants to prepare Bellmead for opportunities that will likely develop from the Baylor Research and Innovation Collaborative (BRIC) and the construction of a new Baylor Stadium and signature bridges on Interstate 35 at Bellmead’s back door. Looking ahead to the future and taking advantage of projected development requires foresight now.
Since Thomas began with Bellmead, the Belle Meadows subdivision project off of Pecan Lane was approved by City Council setting in motion preparing the property for construction.
Another big step for Bellmead is the BRIC, which is expected to create high-tech research jobs and stimulate development on the Loop 340 corridor. It’s also an example of what can happen when good relationships are fostered with neighboring communities. He sees Interstate 35 as a great asset to Bellmead but also major potential for growth along Loop 340 and Highways 84 and 77. Thomas said he particularly enjoys seeing improvement in a community and “making things better than when you came.” He’s no stranger to Central Texas having lived here briefly during elementary school and college.
“It’s a really nice area. the amenities are here yet it’s not too big,” said Thomas, who previously spent almost a decade as city manager in Page, Ariz.
The City Secretary Department is committed to efficiency, professionalism and strives to treat the citizens of Bellmead with respect and trust and serve them in an courteous, efficient and effective manner.
